Site-Specific Performances
Art in Unique Spaces
For site-specific performances, every location is a stage, and every space has its own unique character to enhance the dance experience. From historic sites to parks and unconventional venues, we blend art and environment to create immersive experiences.
The Process:
Location Assessment: Our choreographers study the venue’s architecture and natural elements, designing routines that bring out the location’s essence.
Collaboration with Architects & Technicians: For these custom performances, we work with designers to enhance the site’s features with lighting, props, and structural elements.
Movement Composition: Each sequence is tailored for interaction with the environment — be it a dancer winding through a staircase or leaping across outdoor structures.
Rehearsals: Choreography involves extensive planning for spacing and movement. We rehearse our movements in the studio, but we will also need a lot to rehearse in the venue.
Audience Interaction: Since these events are highly immersive, we design choreography to engage the audience, enhancing their sensory experience of the performance.
The result is a one-of-a-kind performance, fusing art with location to resonate deeply with the audience.
